Deadline: April 17, 2012 (same with deadline for abstract submission).
There will be about 20 awards. Each award will carry up to $1,000 that may be used to pay for registration and/or travel/lodging expenses. Award selection will be based on the quality of the science reflected in the research abstract and other items listed below. Ethnic and gender diversity and disabilities will be considered in order to achieve a broad and balanced awardee portfolio. Full-funding awards will be considered for members of under-represented minority groups from federally designated U.S. Minority-Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and 1890 Institutions. Applicants must also be members of IS-MPMI at the time of the XV International Congress on Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions.
Graduate students from accredited universities or institutions in the U.S.
Please submit the following documents to the IS-MPMI Headquarters.
- An abstract of research to be presented at the XV Congress.
- A statement (up to one-page) indicating how attending this congress will impact your research and/or career. Applicant’s name, degree program, name of advisor, and name of institution department, mailing address and without exception e-mail should also be included in the letter.
Applications should be submitted as ONE (1) portable document file (PDF file) saved as last name, first name (example: SmithTom_travelaward.pdf). Each page should have the name of the applicant included in the page header. The application PDF should be e-mailed to IS-MPMI Staff Coordinator Cindy Scheller (firstname.lastname@example.org) by April 17, 2012.
